Sportsnet Announces 2013 Ottawa Senators Regional Broadcast Schedule


Sportsnet to deliver 34 regular season Ottawa Senators telecasts in 2013, more than any Canadian broadcaster

Schedule features 10 Northeast Division matchups & two showdowns with the Pittsburgh Penguins

Sportsnet has more hockey television coverage featuring Canadian NHL teams than any other broadcaster in Canada with 150 games; extensive multiplatform NHL coverage all season long

TORONTO (January 14, 2013) – Sportsnet today announced its 2013 Ottawa Senators regional broadcast schedule, featuring 34 regular season games on television, kicking off with the home opener on Monday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet East as the Senators host the Florida Panthers at Scotiabank Place. All season long, Sportsnet will keep fans connected to their home team first with more Senators and Canadian NHL team games on TV than any other broadcaster, in addition to unparalleled coverage across radio, digital and print.

 

Thirty-three of Sportsnet’s Ottawa Senators games will air on Sportsnet East, while one will air on the Sportsnet ONE companion channel, Sportsnet Sens. All broadcasts will feature play-by-play announcer Dean Brown, former Stanley Cup Champion and analyst Denis Potvin and host Ian Mendes. HOCKEY CENTRAL will preview every game with a half hour pre-game show, and will also provide intermission and post-game analysis. (Please see complete broadcast schedule below).

 

Highlights from Sportsnet’s Ottawa Senators regular season broadcast schedule include:

  • 10 Northeast Division matchups
  • A rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Round One playoff series on Thursday, Feb. 21 when the New York Rangers visit Scotiabank Place
  • Two games featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins, and two vs. the Washington Capitals

 

In addition to being the official regional television broadcast rights holders for the Ottawa Senators, Sportsnet is the official regional television broadcast rights holder for the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames (including radio rights on Sportsnet 960 The FAN), Edmonton Oilers, and Toronto Maple Leafs (including radio rights on Sportsnet 590 The FAN).
