A Gemini award-winning broadcaster with over 25 years of broadcast experience, James Cybulski joined Sportsnet 650 as the co-anchor for Sportsnet’s Starting Lineup in 2017.
Prior to joining the Sportsnet 650 broadcast booth, Cybulski worked with the breaking news team at NEWS 1130 in Vancouver.
A fixture on the national sports scene since the late 1990’s, Cybulski began his broadcast career with CHEZ 106 FM and 580 CFRA in Ottawa before transitioning to television with The Score Television Network in 1998. In 2000, Cybulski was named the Bureau Chief for The Score in Vancouver, where he covered the Canucks along with the Grizzlies during their final season in the city. Following his tenure with The Score, Cybulski spent seven years as an anchor and reporter for Sportscentre on TSN in Toronto, before joining the Sportsnet broadcast team in 2013. Returning to the west coast with Sportsnet, Cybulski co-anchored the Pacific edition of Sportsnet Connected, bringing Vancouver’s sports fans the latest updates, analysis and insight.
Over the course of his career, the Ottawa native has covered three Olympic Games as well as countless Stanley Cup Playoffs, Grey Cups, NBA Finals, World Juniors and World Series.
In 2010, Cybulski received a Gemini Award nomination for his Olympic coverage during the Vancouver Winter Games. The following year, Cybulski captured a Gemini Award for Best Sports Feature for his segment on Raptors Coach Jay Triano and his special relationship with the legendary Terry Fox.
Cybulski lives with his two daughters in Delta, B.C., where he is an active member of the community as a coach and Commissioner for Delta’s Parks and Recreation department.
