Martine Gaillard, popular weekend host of Sportsnet Central, has been delivering the latest sports news and updates to Canadians across the countrysince joining the network in September 2005.
Prior to joining Sportsnet, Gaillard worked as an anchor at The Score for six years, and also worked as a host and rinkside reporter with CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada from 2002 to 2004. Gaillard’s early career experience includes stints at the Weather Network as morning show host and with CFQC radio in Saskatoon.
A sports enthusiast, Gaillard’s career highlights include covering MLB All-Star Weekend, the 2000 World Series between the New York Yankees and New York Mets – also known as the Subway Series – and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Born in Melfort, SK, Gaillard is a graduate of the Radio and Television Arts program at Ryerson University and currently sits on the voting committee for the Lou Marsh Award, awarded annually to Canada’s top athlete. She is also an ambassador for Plan Canada’s “Because I Am a Girl” campaign.
Gaillard currently resides in Toronto with her husband and daughter.
