Co-Host, Rogers Hometown Hockey


JUNO Award-nominated singer, actress and broadcaster Tara Slone joined the Rogers Hometown Hockey tour for its inaugural cross-country trip in October 2014. Bringing Canadians closer to their hockey roots coast to coast, Slone joins host Ron MacLean every Sunday night from hometowns across the country.

Prior to assuming her role as co-host on the Rogers Hometown Hockey, Slone was the host of Breakfast Television Calgary for over five years. While remaining connected with her morning show audience in Calgary, Slone also acted as a regular contributor to Sportsnet’s broadcasts, covering WHL and CIS hockey, curling, soccer and bobsleigh. In 2013, Tara won the Alberta TV and Film award for Best Television Host.

Before moving into the broadcasting world, Slone fronted the JUNO-nominated rock group Joydrop and was a finalist on the CBS hit series Rockstar: INXS in 2005. The Montreal native also appeared in numerous television shows and films, acting opposite of Ryan Reynolds in Foolproof and scoring a recurring role on the popular television series, La Femme Nikita. Hot off the heels of her acting and musical success, Slone moved to the other side of the microphone in 2007 when she became a regular contributor to Entertainment Tonight Canada, in addition to her work as host and producer ofInside Jam.

Slone currently lives in Toronto with her husband, and is the proud mother of their daughter Audrey.
